Tuesday, March 15th was Proclamation Day with the 1916 Easter Rising being commemorated in schools all over Ireland. In glorious sunshine the flag was raised outside Scoil Chroí Naofa while a piper played. The Irish flag was raised by Nikola, the eldest girl in the school and Krzstof , the youngest boy. The school band played some of their St.Patrick’s Day tunes for everyone. Following the reading of the Irish Proclamation, Caoimhe from the Student Council read the school’s proclamation which was composed for the 1916 centenary. The ceremony finished with everyone singing Amhrán na bhFiann and the band playing another couple of tunes.
After the memorable ceremony all of the 1916 project done by each class were presented to all the pupils and to parents.
