Dear Parents                                                                        Issue: 10                      27th November 2014

Congratulations to the following pupils who were awarded the Caring Kid Award for showing extra kindness during Anti Bullying Week: Hanna, Eve, Samantha, Clodagh, Jessica, Shay, Shannon, Maia, Giovana, Rebecca, Sophie, Zoe and Tamsin.

 

Mrs. Hennessy and the Health School Committee organised an Anti Bullying Competition during Anti Bullying week. Congratulations also to the following pupils who were awarded prizes: Adriana, Eve, Ailbhe, Lucy, Sarah, Anna, Mia, Amy and Abbie.

 

Mr. Wallace selected two teams of children to participate in the Cumann na mBunscoil Cross Country Running Competition in Renmore Park last Thursday. Well done to the following girls who ran

1000 metres in freezing conditions and were placed in the top thirty out of 120 children: Sarah, Megan, Ava, Monica, Leonore, Michelle, Amy and Zoe.

 

Fifth & Sixth class will attend the Musical Hairspray in the Presentation College on Wednesday, the 3rd of December at a cost of €3 per person.

 

The Lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place next Thursday, the 4th of December, at 4.15pm at the Square. The Medieval Town Band has been invited once again to perform at the ceremony.  The children are putting a lot of hard work into this performance and we would be very grateful if you would support us by being present on this occasion.  Further details in next letter.

 

Ms. Monaghan’s, Mrs. Monson’s and Mrs. Murray’s class are participating in the Hallelujah Choir Festival in City West, Dublin on Friday, the 5th of December. All families will receive their tickets today.  A bus has also been booked for family members at a cost of €15 per person. Please forward bus fare to the office by tomorrow, Friday, the 28th of November.

 

All the children and staff are working extremely hard for our Christmas School Concert which takes place every two years. Please note the concert will take place in the Assembly Hall on the 15th, 16th & 17th of December. Four different classes will perform each night. You will be notified of the timetable next week.

 

Parent/Teacher Meetings will take place on the 20th & 21st of January.
