The Board of Management seek an annual contribution of €30 per child or €50 per family The Board wish to thank again those families who gave a Voluntary Contribution during the year. If you would like to contribute, we would be very grateful for your donation. In the light of the economic climate, staff has requested that no gifts be given to them throughout the year. Instead however, your appreciation of staff can be acknowledged in your Voluntary Contribution.


Please forward to the class teacher a Stamped Self Addressed Envelope for each of your children’s end of year reports.


The Green School Committee with the assistance of the Diversity Committee are organising an Intercultural Day tomorrow Friday, the 12th of June. The children may come to school wearing clothes representing national dress of different countries. Each class have learned about different countries and are showcasing their learning to all the children. Parents are invited to visit from 1.30 – 2.30pm and to sample food from different countries. If you would like to provide any food for sampling, the committees would be very grateful.


If you wish to order a Communion Photo, please forward €20 by Friday, the 12th of June.


Mr. Mc Donald, Mr. Wallace and the Active School Committee wish to inform you that next week will be Active School Week.  Their slogan is Be active! Keep active! Stay active. Children may come to school in their track suits and runners. Children are encouraged to be active in their travel as they walk to school. There will be a wide variety of fun activities on offer every day for the different classes. Each morning will commence with a wake up shake up morning assembly presented by the Active School Committee. They will demonstrate and encourage the whole school to participate in some fun exercises, yoga, dancing and action songs. They will assign some exercises as active homework. The teachers have organised a variety of activities to mark this active fun week, e.g. sports day on Tuesday in Kenny Park, disco, hulahoopathon, skipathon, runathon, bizzybreak activities, active homework, teddy bears picnic, walk a mile with a smile from Kenny Park on Wednesday, active travel, drop everything and dance, drop everything and jog, mexican wave, penalty pandemonium against the principal/teacher, basketball knockout, salsa, zumba, camogie league, rugby, etc. Children will be encouraged to drink water in preference to juices during this week. The Committee will issue an Active Newsletter to give ideas to parents and children on how to stay active at home, school and at play. Active Awards will be presented to children who make a special effort in being extra active on Friday.   P.T.O:-

The final Parents’ Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, the 17th of June at 8pm.


The 1st class boys will visit the Boys School on Thursday, the 18th of June at 1.30pm. They can be collected from their classroom at 1pm.


The Green School Committee are organising their final Monster Cash for Clobber for Wednesday, the 24th of June. They would like you to help them with a Three Bag Challenge where every family and staff member in the school, take on the challenge to collect three bags of clothes. Please call on extended family, neighbours and friends to help you reach your three bag goal. If you can’t gather three bags we would welcome any amount.


Ms. Treacy and Mrs. Burke are organising a Scoil Chroí Naofa Summer Camp from the 6th to the 10th of July from 10a.m. to 2.p.m. The camp is geared towards junior infants to 2nd class at a cost of €65 (family discount available €60 per sibling). Activities include treasure hunt, baking, Zumba, soccer, sports, Arts & Crafts, X-Factor, mystery tour, etc. Forms have been distributed and are also available at the office.


Some parents requested a copy of the Christmas Concert DVD. There was a recording made each night. If you wish to order a copy, please forward €4 for the DVD for one night, €6 for two nights and €8 for the three nights by Friday, the 19th of June. Please complete order form below accompanied with payment.
