Band practice takes place every Wednesday. If your child was selected to play the Bell Lyre, Melodica or Accordion, please forward a rental fee of €25 immediately.  €10 will be refunded at the end of the year if the instruments are returned in good condition.


Second class children will commence Tin Whistle this week. Tin Whistle in the key of C are available at the office at a cost of €6.50.


The Green School Committee have distributed Hi-Vis Vests to all the children in junior infants. Please encourage your child to wear these vests as they walk to and from school.


Mrs. Monson and her fifth class visited Milano’s Restaurant in Middle Street, Galway yesterday where they were taught how to make a Marguerita Pizza. They had a very enjoyable time. Sincere thanks to the Parents Council who financed the bus.

The Staff Meeting for this Thursday, the 9th of October has been cancelled as a mark of respect for the untimely death of Barbara Smith (RIP) who was a teacher in the Boys School. Children will go home at the normal time.


Mr. Wallace will commence Sports Club for 1st & 2nd class on Tuesday, 14th of October from 2.30 – 3.30pm. It will run for 6 weeks at a cost of €18. Children will need PE gear and runners.


John from the Football Association of Ireland will present a course on combating racism through football entitled “Show Racism the Red Card” to 6th class on Wednesday, the 15th of October.

The Parent’s Council wish to invite you to attend the Annual General Meeting for all Parents which will take place Wednesday week, the 15th of October at 8.00pm in the new extension. The following is the Agenda: Opening Address, Minutes of the A.G.M. 2013, Treasurers’ Report, Principal’s Report, Parent’s Council 2014, and A.O.B.

Parents and 6th class girls who will be making their Confirmation are invited to attend their first Special Mass this Sunday, 12th of October at 7.30pm.


Information Open Nights for sixth class girls enrolling in second level education:

  • Colaiste an Eachreidh on Monday, the 20th of October at 7.30pm.
  • Presentation College on Tuesday, the 21st October at 7.30pm.
