Dear Parents Issue: 26 June 8th 2015
The Students’ Council wish to thank the whole school community for supporting their recent annual Bake Sale. The sum of €841 was raised. Proceeds will go towards funding Our Lady’s Children Hospital in Crumlin.
The Parents’ Council are kindly financing a Bird Watching Workshop for the children in Mr. Wallace’s and Mr. McDonald’s classes tomorrow.
A Road Safety Officer will provide Safety Workshops for some of the classes tomorrow and the remainder of the classes at a later date.
There will be a Reception Meeting in the school on Wednesday, the 10th of June at 8pm for:
- Parents of children who will be starting the Junior Infant Programme 2015
- Parents of new children who have enrolled in other classes for 2015
Help would be appreciated from the Parents Council in providing tea and refreshments on the night from 8.30pm – 9.00pm and also the following day from 12.30 – 1.30pm.
All the Junior and Senior Infants will go home on Thursday the 11th of June at 11.45pm as the new Junior Infants for September 2015 will be visiting the school from 12.30 – 1.30pm.
If you wish to order a Communion Photo, please forward €20 by Friday, the 12th of June.
The Board of Management seek an annual contribution of €30 per child or €50 per family The Board wish to thank again those families who gave a Voluntary Contribution during the year. If you would like to contribute, we would be very grateful for your donation. In the light of the economic climate, staff has requested that no gifts be given to them throughout the year. Instead however, your appreciation of staff can be acknowledged in your Voluntary Contribution.
The Green School Committee with the assistance of the Diversity Committee are organising an Intercultural Day this Friday, the 12th of June. The children may come to school wearing clothes representing national dress of different countries. Each class have learned about different countries and are showcasing their learning to all the children. Parents are invited to visit from 1.30 – 2.30pm and to sample food from different countries. If you would like to provide any food for sampling, the committees would be very grateful. P.T.O:-
Please forward to the class teacher a Stamped Self Addressed Envelope for each of your children’s end of year reports.
- The Green School Committee are organising another Cash for Clobber collection for the end of June.
- McDonald and Mr. Wallace are organising activities for Active School Week from Monday, the 15th to Friday, the 19th of June.
- The 1st class boys will visit the Boys School on Thursday, the 18th of June at 1.30pm. They can be collected from their classroom at 1pm.
- The Graduation Mass for the 1st class boys and the 6th class girls has been rescheduled to Thursday, the 25th of June at 11am.
Ms. Treacy and Mrs. Burke are organising a Scoil Chroí Naofa Summer Camp from the 6th to the 10th of July from 10a.m. to 2.p.m. The camp is geared towards junior infants to 2nd class at a cost of €65 (family discount available €60 per sibling). Activities include treasure hunt, baking, Zumba, soccer, sports, Arts & Crafts, X-Factor, mystery tour, etc. Forms have been distributed and are also available at the office.
Some parents requested a copy of the Christmas Concert DVD. There was a recording made each night. If you wish to order a copy, please forward €4 for the DVD for one night, €6 for two nights and €8 for the three nights. Please complete order form below accompanied with payment.
