Dear Parents                          Issue: 13                                                                      7th January 2015

The staff and I hope you and your families had a very happy, peaceful Christmas. We wish you health and blessings for this New Year.

Sincere congratulations to all the staff for all their hard work in preparing the children for the Christmas Concerts. All the children gave a terrific performance. We were all so proud of them. Thank you for your support and co-operation over the three nights. A word of gratitude to Parents Council and volunteers who assisted the staff at the doors, with the raffles and the stage. A special thanks to those of you who donated spot prizes.

The Board of Management wish to thank all of you who gave the Voluntary Contribution during the first term. All donations are greatly appreciated. Donations of €30 per child or €50 per family will still be accepted and appreciated throughout the remainder of the school year.

Children from fourth up to sixth classes were given Hallelujah Choir T-shirts on loan for the concerts. We have noted that quite a number have not yet been returned. Please check to see that your child has returned her T- shirt so they can be re-used for future choral events.

The Student Council organised a little fundraiser with the assistance of a publisher.  They created a calendar from January to December 2015 with a photo of each of the twelve classes to coincide with the months of the year. There are a number of calendars still available at the office at a cost of €5.

Congratulations also to the following children who received an award for making a special effort to speak Irish on Wednesdays during December; Maisie, Claudio, Saoirse, Mark Dominik, Maria, John, Colm, Jack, Mia, Ciara, Sophie and Nessa.

The staff of Scoil Chroí Naofa consider punctuality to be of paramount importance. Please ensure your child is on time. Every child is bringing home a new book each night and parents are asked to read this book with their child.
