We have recently set up a Twitter account for the school. You can follow us at @chroinaofa. We are very excited to showcase all the wonderful work and achievements of the pupils of the school and hope that you will journey along with us. It will be a similar platform to our school website, YouTube channel and blog. We will not be naming any pupil/s that feature in accompanying photographs in the tweet. We will also use this platform to alert you of up and coming events in the school and local community. We are seeking your consent to allow us to use photographs of your child, where applicable, on this platform. It will be understood that consent has been given if you haven’t replied to the school to state otherwise, within a week of the date on this newsletter. Please contact the school if you have any further questions or if you would prefer your child not to feature on Twitter.

Supply Panel Scheme:

The Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh TD has announced 6 panels to be created around the country to help answer demand for substitute teachers. As part of the pilot programme up to 18 teachers will be hired on full-time contracts to work across school clusters in different parts of the country. Scoil Chroí Naofa is the base school for this programme in Co. Galway. Up to 3 teachers will be hired and they will be employed by the base school. They will be available to work in the other schools participating in the substitute teacher cluster as and when the need arises. The purpose of the programme is to try to find a clever and efficient way of giving a qualified teacher security of work and ensuring they fill as many vacancies across a number of schools.
