& fun-filled Sports week. It was a great success. Check out all the fun the

A special word of thanks
to Bradys Butchers and the Parents Council for arranging the BBQ in Kenny Park
on the Friday. It was a wonderful treat for all!
Congratulations to the 1st
class boys & 6th class girls who celebrated their graduation
mass last Wednesday. We were all delighted to see our guest of honour Mrs
Neylon who returned to wish them all well. The staff wish all our graduates the
very best in their new schools.
Sixth class girls
will be getting their holidays on Wednesday June 26th at 2.30pm. The
staff wish them a fond farewell with health and happiness always.
The Board of Management is purchasing 20 new laptops, STEM robotics and
visualizers (print projectors) for the school at this time. This is an exciting
development and one that will really enhance the IT provision for all the
pupils in the school.
2019 / 2020
the next school year have been distributed. Anyone interested in availing of
the Book Rental scheme is asked to complete the “Book Rental Order Form”. The
completed form, along with the exact amount of money due should be returned to
the class teacher in a sealed envelope as soon as possible.

Cash for Clobber:
thanks to all of you who donated bags for the Cash for Clobber for Collection. We raised €360.
Council are holding a Bake Sale
tomorrow Tuesday, June 25th. There will be a selection of homemade treats
available for children to buy as well as games to play. The Students’ Council
would be very appreciative of donations towards their Bake Sale. If you would
like to donate cakes, buns, bread or treats please send them to Room 16 on the
Tuesday morning. The proceeds will go
towards the Parents Council. The girls have offered to do this
as a “thank you” to the Parents Council for all the things they have funded for
them during the year.
Boys School Book
The Boys School
will hold their annual book sale tomorrow Tuesday at 1.30pm.
We are required
to collect and record details of each pupil’s Eircode, for the Department of
Education & Skills. Please provide your Eircode to your child’s class
teacher, at your earliest convenience.
The Board of Management seeks an annual contribution of €30 per child or
€50 per family The Board wish to thank again those families who gave a Voluntary Contribution during the
year. If you would still like
to contribute, we would be very grateful for your donation.
Parents have been very
generous in the past in donating
uniforms. These uniforms are given to families who find the beginning
of the year difficult. If you wish to
donate uniforms please forward them to the secretary’s office.
The Back Pack
A charity called
“Mary’s Meals” are looking for good quality second hand backpacks / school
bags, which they send to children in Africa, who are living in poverty. Mary’s
Meals send the backpacks to children who really need them which will enable
them to attend school and gain an education that can help them escape from
poverty when they grow up. For this reason if you have any old school bags,
pencil cases, etc. that you will not be using next year and you would like to
donate them – you can drop them into the office and we will pass them on to the
annual Pedal Parade takes place this Sunday at 4pm. Meet at the
carpark beside Kenny park. Suitable for all ages, participants are
encouraged to “pimp your bike” and perhaps win a prize!
students are encouraged to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge
run by the local library from June 15th to August 31st.
Competition: Athenry and Clarinbridge Tidy
Towns would like the children to take pictures for a calendar about the
Clarin River and the areas it flows through! Entering is easy. Take a
picture of your local environment and upload it to: www.ClarinPhoto.com. Pictures should
be a scene from your local town, village or parish. The closing date is
Friday September 27th.
Final September Reminders
- The school will re-open on Thursday August 29th at
8.50am. Children in Junior Infant classes will go home at 12 o’clock for
the first two weeks.
- It is recommended that children from junior infants up to 1st
class purchase shoes with velcro.
- Runners are required for Physical Education lessons.
- Old large shirts are required for Visual Art lessons.
