Getting Creative with Clay

Rm5 made Easter Baskets this month out of clay. It was lots of work but lots of fun.

We first rolled the clay into a ball then used out thumb to make an opening. From this we used a pinching technique to turn this into a bowl or “pinch pot” as they’re called. We then used small match sticks to create patterns into the clay.

This was left to dry for a week. Then we painted them all white to create a clean background, then used eater colours to make them colourful and finally they were covered with PVA glue and some glitter to make them nice and shiny.

When Friday came along there was a special visit from the Easter Bunny and each Easter Basket had a little chick and some yummy mini eggs in them!
