As we all know, Mrs Monson’s 6th class took part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) again this year. JEP is an entrepreneurial awareness and skills enhancement programme for primary school children over a 12 week period. Over the 12 weeks the children came up with their own business ideas out of which five ideas were selected and ultimately whittled down to the winning product which was Slime Surprise. This very popular product went on sale in SCN last Friday morning and sold out very quickly! Aoibhe, Willow and Rhiannon announced at morning assembly today that the class had raised over 1700 in revenue from sales. They have paid back their €400 loan and paid an extra €80 in expenses. The remaining profits will be divided between the 6th class girls. Each girl has made €40. It was a fantastic programme and an overall great learning experience for all involved. The girls thanked the children and their parents for supporting them by purchasing their product. The girls also thanked Mrs Monson for all her hard work in helping them with the project!
