Dear Parents                                     Issue: 22                                                       23rd May 2016

Congratulations to the 27 girls in Mr. Mc Donald’s class who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday. A special thank you to the Parents’ Council who financed a party for them today.

 

In the interest of safety for our children we wish to remind you again of the following;

  1. No cars are allowed onto school grounds. All cars should be parked outside the school grounds in the car parks outside the school gates and at the Church.
  1. Please ensure that your child does not walk on the wall. They have been reminded of this numerous times.

 

If you need to bring a lunch, money, books, etc to your child during the school day, please give them to the secretary for delivery.

 

6th class participated in a Cycling Workshop today organised by An Taisce and supported by the County Council.

 

Mr. Wallace has selected a number of children to participate in the County Sports which will take place in Dangan tomorrow. The children will wear shorts, t-shirts and track suit coming to school with rain wear. Apply sunscreen if necessary. Children will need healthy lunches with plenty of water.  The bus will depart at 8.15am. Parents Council will finance the bus fare.

 

The Athenry Camogie Club Primary School Blitz will take place in Carnaun pitch on Wednesday, the 25th of May. The school team and selected children from 1st to 3rd class will participate in a junior and senior league. Children participating may wear their tracksuits coming to school. Parents Council will finance the bus fare.

 

Peter Joyce will provide a concert for all the children on Friday, the 27th of May.

 

Our school wish to support the Billy’s Dolls of Comfort Charity. This charity provides new or second hand dolls to comfort patients who have suffered brain injury or illness (Alzheimer’s). If you would like to donate a doll for this charity, please forward by Friday.

 

The National Parents Council are organising an Education Conference in National College of Ireland in Dublin on Saturday, the 28th of May from 10.30 – 4pm. Parents are invited to attend, admission is free but places are limited. You can register online at www.npc.ie.

 

Corpus Christi Procession will take place on Sunday 29th of May after 11am Mass. Sixth class and second class are invited in the Procession with their parents.

 

Children will have no school on Wednesday, the 8th of June as the staff will be receiving In-service on the New Language Curriculum. Please see information leaflet overleaf.
