In January we celebrated Catholic Schools week and invited our grandparents in. We loved listening to their stories. They told us what life was like in Ireland during the Emergency of WW2. We found this very interesting as we are learing about WW2 in History.
What fun we had when Darren Collins from Monivea Rugby came to 6th class to coach us in Tip Rugby over the course of four weeks. We look forward to our blitz in March.
The entire class had done lots of debating over Term 1 and our hard work culminated in Amy, Giovana and Rebecca reaching the quarter finals of the Sr De Lourdes Fahy Debating Competition in February.
February was a very busy month in 6th class. A super day was had by all on our Confirmation Retreat, it was a lovely lead up to our Confirmation day.
Painting glass jars using acrilic paint in Art. We learned about procedural writing in English and it was a bonus to have the opportunity to follow a procedure by making rice Krispie buns in the staff room , yum!
The highlight of our year came early, on February 28th when we made our Confirmation. We were singing the psalm on Confirmation day and here we are practicing!. We had a lovely class party the following Monday in school, with lots of dancing and our favourite treats.
